General Information
You can participate in open water swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, wood fired saunas and a wide range of wellbeing classes.
You can book a ticket here. Simply select your desired activities and follow the instructions to complete your order.
Yes, everyone visiting Whitmore Lakes, whether participating or spectating, must complete an online waiver prior to arrival. For children under 18, this must be completed on their behalf by the accompanying adult.
Swimmer tickets are priced at £10 for a half day session.
The sauna costs £24 per 55 minutes session and includes a morning or afternoon on Swan Lake.
To participate in stand-up paddleboarding tickets are £10 for a half day session. We offer stand-up paddleboard rentals for £15, including life jackets. You can use one board between a maximum of two people, but both must hold valid tickets. This applies to self-launch also.

No, all pre-booked tickets are non-refundable.
Unfortunately changes to tickets cannot be made. Please ensure your time and date is correct at the time of booking.
No, only persons with valid entry tickets who have agreed to and accepted our terms and conditions can access the lakes.
We advise all participants to wear a bright swim cap. Solo swimmers must use a tow float at all times, and this rule applies to all swimmers during winter months. We recommend wearing wetsuits (weather dependent), swim shoes and gloves. Tow floats are available for purchase at reception.
Yes, children under 11 are not permitted to enter the lakes. The only exception is if they are participating in a training session with Kuotos Swim. All children between 11 and 18 must be accompanied by a competent adult swimmer. Each adult can supervise a maximum of three children.
Yes, the minimum age requirement for participating in water sports on Kingfisher Lake is 8 years. All children between 8 and 17 must be accompanied by a competent adult. Children ages 8-13 must be accompanied on the water. Children ages 14-17 must have an Accompanying Adult with them on site at all times. Each adult can supervise a maximum of three children and must be present.
Yes, if you have a known medical condition or are pregnant, you should consult your doctor before participating.
- No diving into the lakes
- You must be a confident swimmer and able to swim 50m unaided
- No alcohol is permitted, nor should be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol when visiting the lake
- You must follow all instructions given by our staff for everyone’s safety
Unfortunately, dogs and dog walking are not permitted anywhere on Whitmore Estate.
Yes. The Cake Shack is situated on-site and offers a variety of drinks and hot/cold food. Please see their Facebook page for more details and opening hours.
There is a small outdoor changing area, however, we recommend that you arrive ready for your session. Please note there are no shower facilities.
No, we are an un-lifeguarded site, but lifebuoys are available around the lakes and exit points are frequent.
The water quality is tested regularly, though it may vary due to weather conditions or other factors.
Yes, there are a few fish in the swimming lakes at Whitmore however fish presence is a great indicator of healthy water. Generally, the fish will keep their distance… they are just as eager to avoid you as you are to avoid them!
The daily water temperature is advertised at the reception office. We also update the water temperature regularly on our social platforms.
It’s important to listen to your body and if you’re new to cold water swimming, we recommend enrolling on an ‘Introduction to cold water’ session with Ian, upcoming dates can be found here. Additionally, if the water temperature is below 14°C, it’s recommended that you limit your time in the water to one minute per degree celsius.

Yes, by entering the lakes, you grant permission for your photographs to be used for marketing purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at info@whitmorelakes.co.uk.
We understand that you may wish to capture videos or photos during your visit and we kindly ask that you follow these guidelines:
- Only take close-up shots that include your party
- Avoid wide-angle shots that capture the entire pool or other people
Yes, we reserve the right to close the lakes or change bookings due to technical, operational, weather, or safety reasons. Substitute tickets may be offered in such cases.

Group Bookings and Private Hire
Yes, our Dragonfly Lake is available for private hire. You can chose your session and book directly online.
Watersports
Kingfisher Lake is available for stand up paddleboarding.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own gear and self-launch on Kingfisher Lake. Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
Yes, a maximum of two participants can use one board, whether bringing your own equipment or hiring.
Yes, we have SUPs for rent. Buoyancy aids are provided as standard with rentals at no extra cost. Please note that buoyancy aids are not available to rent as standalone items.
No, motorised water sports are not permitted on any Lake at Whitmore
Swimming is not permitted in Kingfisher Lake, but you can book a swim session at Swan Lake for a refreshing dip after your water sports activity.
