Yes, everyone visiting Whitmore Lakes, whether participating or spectating, must complete an online waiver prior to arrival. For children under 18, this must be completed on their behalf by the accompanying adult.

No, all pre-booked tickets are non-refundable.
Unfortunately changes to tickets cannot be made. Please ensure your time and date is correct at the time of booking.
No, only persons with valid entry tickets who have agreed to and accepted our terms and conditions can access the lakes. this includes spectators and carers.
We recommend bringing the correct kit for your chosen activity to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. If you’re swimming in the lake, we advise wearing a bright swim cap at all times. Solo swimmers must use a tow float, and this applies to all swimmers during the winter months. Wetsuits (weather dependent), along with swim shoes and gloves, are also recommended. Tow floats are available to purchase at reception if needed.
Yes, children under 11 are not permitted to enter the lakes. The only exception is if they are participating in a training session with Kuotos Swim. All children between 11 and 18 must be accompanied by a competent adult swimmer. Each adult can supervise a maximum of three children.
Yes, the minimum age requirement for participating in water sports on Kingfisher Lake is 8 years. All children between 8 and 17 must be accompanied by a competent adult. Children aged 8-13 must be accompanied on the water. Each adult can supervise a maximum of three children and must be present at all times.
Yes, if you have a known medical condition or are pregnant, you should consult your doctor before participating.
For everyone’s safety, we ask all swimmers to follow a few essential guidelines. Diving into the lakes is not permitted. You must be a confident swimmer and able to swim at least 50m unaided. Alcohol is not permitted on site, and you must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when visiting the lake. As an un-lifeguarded facility, it is important that you follow all instructions given by our team at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Unfortunately, dogs and dog walking are not permitted anywhere on Whitmore Estate.
Yes. The Cake Shack is situated on-site and offers a variety of drinks and hot/cold food. Please see their Facebook page for more details and opening hours.
There is a small outdoor changing area, however, we recommend that you arrive ready for your session. Please note there are no shower facilities.
No, we are an un-lifeguarded site, but lifebuoys are available around the lakes and exit points are frequent.
The water quality is tested regularly, though it may vary due to weather conditions or other factors.
Yes, there are a few fish in the swimming lakes at Whitmore however fish presence is a great indicator of healthy water. Generally, the fish will keep their distance… they are just as eager to avoid you as you are to avoid them!
The daily water temperature is advertised at the reception office. We also update the water temperature regularly on our social platforms.
It’s important to listen to your body and if you’re new to cold water swimming, we recommend enrolling on an ‘Introduction to cold water’ session with Ian, upcoming dates can be found here. Additionally, if the water temperature is below 14°C, it’s recommended that you limit your time in the water to one minute per degree celsius.

Yes, by entering the lakes, you grant permission for your photographs to be used for marketing purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at info@whitmorelakes.co.uk.
Yes, we reserve the right to close the lakes or change bookings due to technical, operational, weather, or safety reasons. Substitute tickets may be offered in such cases.

Watersports
Kingfisher Lake is available for stand up paddleboarding.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own gear and self-launch on Kingfisher Lake. Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
Yes, a maximum of two participants can use one board, whether bringing your own equipment or hiring.
Yes, we have SUPs for rent. Buoyancy aids are provided as standard with rentals at no extra cost. Please note that buoyancy aids are not available to rent as standalone items.
No, motorised water sports are not permitted on any Lake at Whitmore
Swimming is not permitted in Kingfisher Lake, but you can book a swim session at Swan Lake for a refreshing dip after your water sports activity.
